Soloist Rubi Topacio Ortiz Rodriguez will perform with the Orquesta Sinfonica del I.P.N. directed by Vladimir Sagaydo at Centro Cultural Jaime Torres Bodet, Mexico City.
In June and July, the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and drummer Andrew Harris performed Here Comes the Ice Cream Truck at various outdoor venues in the Ottawa area in the presence of the Merry Dairy ice cream truck. The first performance took place on June 19, 2025 at the Dominion-Chalmers Centre at the OSO’s 2025-26 season launch.
On June 14 and 15, 2025 Trio Barra Libre joined forces with Monserrat Cruz and Srba Dinic to perform the Garbage Concerto with the Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM in Mexico City.
On January 18, 2025 Tambuco performed with the Plano Symphony Orchestra conducted by Héctor Gúzman at the Robinson Fine Arts Centre, Plano, Texas.
On October 17 and 19, 2024, the Fourtissimo Percussion Ensemble played the Garbage Concerto in Mexico City with the Orquesta Sinfonica del I.P.N. directed by Vladimir Sagaydo at Centro Cultural Jaime Torres Bodet.
The St. Petersburg Philharmonic Woodwind Quintet recorded an excellent performance of the Woodwind Quintet in Russia. On May 25, 2024 soloist Jesse Guo gave the first performance of the Vibraphone Concerto accompanied by the Kanata Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yves Lacoursière at Woodroffe United Church, Ottawa. The work was commissioned by the KSO and funded by an arts grant from the City of Ottawa.
Let’s Go To The Beach, from Children’s Songs, was first performed on June 22, 2023 at a school assembly by the grade 5/6 choir of Dr. F. J. McDonald Catholic School, Ottawa under the direction of Patricia Kaiser.

The bassoon version of Moonscape was performed at the Commixtus International Chamber Music Festival at Église St. Cybard, Plassac Rouffiac, France on June 3, 2022. Franck Leblois played bassoon and Jérôme Bertholon played electric guitar.
On May 13, 2022 the SAFA Percussion Ensemble performed the Garbage Concerto at the Festival Internacional Universitario Cultura accompanied by Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes directed by Miguel Salmon del Real. The event took place at Auditorio de la Autonomia Universitaria, Sinaloa, Mexico. The video of this is on YouTube.
On September 11, 2021 Jan Järvlepp and Jane Staples were married at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ottawa by Rev. Joel Crouse. Composed especially for this ceremony were the Processional and the Recessional. Performing were Alla Perevalova - violin, Steve Smith - cello and Keegan Lazarus - piano.
On March 8, 2020, the Jenaer Philharmonie, under the direction of Simon Gaudenz, performed the Garbage Concerto at the Volkshaus in Jena, Germany. Local percussionists played the solo parts on their homemade instruments
On October 7, 2019, the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Alain Trudel, gave the first performance of the orchestral version of Brass Dance at Dominion-Chalmers, Ottawa.
On July 10, 2019, Pascale Margely - flute, Roxanne Léveillé - clarinet, and Jan Järvlepp - electric guitar, performed the premiere of the clarinet version of Seagulls at All Saints, Ottawa. Cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne and pianist John Dapaah played the premiere of The Rise and Fall of the Avro Arrow at the Museum of History on July 12, 2019. They repeated it at their own recital at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa on August 31, 2019.
On May 26, 2019, the Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata, OJUEM (Eduardo Mata Youth Orchestra), directed by Vladimir Sagaydo, performed the Garbage Concerto with soloists Topacio Ortiz, Marco Antonio Mora, Eduardo Torres and Bryan Flores, collectively known as Fourtissimo. The event took place at Sala Nezahualcóyotl on UNAM’s campus. This is the fifth orchestra in Mexico City to perform this work.
The Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Yi Huang, played The Garbage Concerto on November 18, 2018 at Xinghai Concert Hall, Guangzhou, China. The Ju Percussion Group were the soloists.

The Ju Percussion Group were the soloists. This was the first performance of Järvlepp’s music in China while the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra was the sixth orchestra to perform this piece in 2018.

Participating were Susan Morse - flute, Karen Jarvlepp - violin, Jan Jarvlepp - cello, and Mai-yu Chan - organ. On February 3 and 5, 2018, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, under the direction of Alain Trudel, gave four performances of the first movement of the Garbage Concerto in a series of student concerts, known as Symphony Hack Lab, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. The soloists were Ken Simpson, Jonathan Wade, Reynaliz Herrera, Kristofer Maddigan and Andrew Harris.
