The percussion ensemble trash.dk performed as soloists in the first movement of the Garbage Concerto in three Scandinavian cities in the fall of 2010. On October 20, it was performed by the Malmö Symphony Orchestra at the Malmö Concert Hall in Malmö, Sweden with Henrik Vagn Christensen conducting. On October 30, it was performed by the Aarhus Symphony under the direction of Peter Ettrup Larsen at the Musikhuset in Aarhus, Denmark. On November 20, the Odense Symphony Orchestra performed it with the same soloists and conductor Peter Ettrup Larsen in Carl Nielsen Hall, Odense, Denmark. On April 28, they performed it at the Centro de Convenções Benedito Nunes at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) with Enaldo Oliveira conducting. This was the Brazilian premiere of the piece. On April 29, the same performers played it at Teatro Maria Sylvia Nunes in the Estação das Docas (Docks Neighborhood). This was the closing performance of the Third Festa do Ritmo (Rhythm Festival), an annual percussion festival held in Belém. On June 13, the same soloists and orchestra performed the first movement of the concerto led by William LaRoue Jones at the Anfiteatro São Pedro Nolasco in the closing performance of the XXIII Festival Internacional de Música de Pará. The Mikkeli Orchestra, directed by Pasi-Heikki Mikkola, gave both the Finnish language premiere and the string orchestra premiere of Three Stories by Hans Christian Andersen in a children's program. This was the first use of the new translation of these stories made by Liisa Türkeli especially for this music. The Garbage Concerto was performed on October 22 and 23, 2009 in Aalborg, Denmark by the Aalborg Symfoniorkester conducted by Henrik Vagn Christensen. The featured soloists were the percussion ensemble trash.dk, who specialize in performing on percussion instruments made out of garbage.

On June 9, 2007 at Woodroffe United Church, Ottawa, cellists Jan Jarvlepp and Kuniko Soda gave the first performance of Cello Duet No. 3 entitled "Rock'n'Roll" in a concert suitably called Cello Mania! This completes the premiere performances of the complete set of Three Cello Duets which were composed for Soda.

www.foudebasson.com On June 6, 2008, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, directed by the young Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra, gave the New York premiere of the Garbage Concerto in a performance featuring Tambuco, Mexico's leading percussion group. They played on a set of instruments made out of Mexican garbage that they previously used in a performance of the same piece in Mexico City. Each movement was enthusiastically applauded. The event took place at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, home of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and was followed by a gala reception. www.acmusic.org Alto Saxophonist Victor Herbiet teamed up with composer Jan Jarvlepp on electric guitar to give the first performances of the alto saxophone version of Moonscape. The Ottawa Chamber Music Society presented this event at Maxwell's Bistro, Ottawa on March 17 and 18, 2008. This was done in collaboration with the Canadian Music Centre's "New Music in New Places" initiative.
To mark the 55th birthday of the composer, Dominion Carillonneur Gordon Slater performed Jan Jarvlepp's Evening Music and Night Music on the Peace Tower Carillon at Parliament Hill, Ottawa. Heard in the chilly -19 degree weather of January 3, 2008, the audience consisted mostly of tourists who pointed up at the bell tower in surprise as music issued forth into the winter air.
The Taipei Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Argentinian conductor Alejo Perez, performed the Garbage Concerto with Ju Group as the featured soloists. They played on a set of instruments made from Taiwanese garbage. The concert took place in the National Concert Hall in Taipei on December 18, 2007 receiving very favorable reviews.

The event took place on November 30, 2007 at the Lilian Piercey Concert Hall in the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
On August 1, 2007, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival presented the first performance of Quintet 2007 for vibraphone and string quartet. The event took place at Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa with J. S. Lacombe as the featured vibraphonist. This piece was the result of an Ontario Arts Council composition grant.
On February 19 & 20, 2007, the Ottawa Chamber Music Society, under the artistic direction of Julian Armour, presented an informal concert of music by Ottawa composers at the popular nightclub Maxwell's Bistro. Included in the program was an exciting performance of Pierrot Solaire and the CBC was on hand to record it for national broadcast. This was part of the Canadian Music Centre's initiative for new music in new places.
The Ottawa Chamber Music Festival presented the first performance of Three Stories by Hans Christian Andersen for narrator and string ensemble. Composed for children, this piece includes the classic Andersen tales “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”, “The Little Match Girl” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. The composer has made new Canadian English versions of the texts based on old British English translations. The event took place on July 31st, 2006 at the Glebe Community Centre, Ottawa. The featured narrators were Lori Jean Hodge and Doreen Taylor-Claxton. The Little Match Girl was composed as part of a City of Ottawa Ottawa arts grant project.
Under the direction of Kurt Ala-Kantti, the Harmonia Choir performed Jan Jarvlepp’s setting of the Lord’s Prayer in a concert given at Rideau Park United Church, Ottawa on May 14, 2006. The choir was accompanied by piano and string quartet. For more information:
